A PRACTICAL TRIP SHORTLIST
Oregon hot springs camping: compare overnight options
The key distinction is whether camping is on the property, in a separate campground, or prohibited at the springs. Use the destination sources for booking rules, site limits and current restrictions.

Designated refuge camping
Hart Mountain has free, first-come designated campgrounds. Hot Springs Campground has a 24-foot trailer limit; the refuge sets a 14-day stay limit within 30 days. Bring water and check seasonal road access. Do not confuse Hot Springs Campground with Camp Hart Mountain.
Private-property overnight stays
Summer Lake requires overnight reservations and charges camping per person; hookups cost extra. Alvord lists campsites and RV spaces without hookups, and asks visitors to call. Crane has overnight accommodation options separate from its day-use pond tickets. Check each operator’s booking terms and total price.
A hot spring pin is not a campsite
Snively prohibits camping at and around the site. Umpqua’s trailhead is day use, with Toketee Lake named as a separate overnight option. Terwilliger limits camping to developed campgrounds in the Cougar Recreation Area. Never infer camping permission from public ownership or an empty pullout.
ODOT TripCheck covers state-highway conditions. Check the relevant forest, refuge or operator for the final access road. No driving times, opening guarantees or live pool temperatures are inferred from map coordinates.
